WVL Day Camps

Summer 2026 Day Camps

Location of Camps:  All day camps are held onsite at WestView Learning’s home, the Historic Somenos Community Hall, located at 3248 Cowichan Valley Hwy – aka Hwy 18.

Registration: most camps register directly through this website but six camps register through the Cowichan Community Centre’s RecCowichan. 

NOTE: If you would like to register your child for camp but would prefer to spread the payments over 2-3 months, please email programs@wvlcentre.ca and we will make arrangements.

Camps run a full week, 9:00 – 3:00 each day except for the week of June 29-July 3rd which is a 4 day camp period due to the statutory holiday.

Arrival/Pick Up:  Drop off is between 8:50 and 9:00 and pick up is at 3:00. Please contact Christine, WVL’s program manager, if arrangements need to be made for early arrival or late pick up.

What to bring: Campers do spend time outside, weather permitting. Please send campers with:

  • appropriate outside clothing/foot wear
  • sunscreen that student can self apply
  • water bottle
  • snacks/lunch
  • inside shoes

We are happy to register neurodivergent students who require support in social & academic interactions. To make the experience a success for each child, please provide details of the child’s needs in the WVL or CCC registration forms. Contact staff well ahead of the camp so we can arrange a tour  to connect student with staff and environment prior to the camp.  Students may require additional assistance in camps just as in school which may require seeking additional funding for an aide. This helps the camper,  the other campers, and staff experience a positive camp.

Refund policy;

A refund will be issued if you provide 10 working days notice prior to the start of camps and/or after school programs. The refund will be the price of the camp with a $20 processing fee deducted. Notifications of withdrawal between 6-9 working days will be refunded at half the cost of the camp or after school program. No refund is issued for late withdrawals except under extenuating circumstances where a partial refund might be considered.
