Garden to Table Kitchen Capers

Kitchen Life Skills and Specialties – Ages 9-12 OR Ages 10-14

Garden to Table Kitchen Capers – Saturdays

Day: Saturday

Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

This 9 hour course offered over 3 Saturdays will provide important kitchen life skills to all the participants. Our Garden to Table program will enable the participants to see what is growing in our fabulous outdoor garden, and begin to understand how it can be used to make delicious meals for everyone to enjoy.

Time: 4:30-6:30

Cost: $185

In this 10 hour course, held over 5 weeks, participants will learn and practice kitchen safety and cleanliness while creating healthy snacks, lunches, and a few treats.Festive, seasonal projects will be included.

Dungeon & Dragons

Embark on wondrous quests and mythical journeys! This day camp is for the imagination adventurer who is curious about the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons. No experience required! Our original daily adventures are custom designed and age appropriate for young audiences. Participants will get to to learn about D&D, how to create and run their own adventures with their friends.

WestView Learning is pleased to offer Dungeon & Dragon groups on after school Tuesday, Thursday,  and Friday. Registration remains open for the fall campaigns

Math Groups


Grade 8 Math Skills (Homework too!) 

Dates: Thursdays, November 7 – December 12 (6 weeks)
Time: 3:30 – 5:00
Cost: $240

This small group (minimum 2, maximum 4) provides a space for a math educator to provided remedial and engaging activities to reinforce your child’s Math 8 experience.

Writing

Creative Writing Course Ages 9-13

Dates: Mondays, September 16th – December 9th (10 Weeks – no class September 30, October 14, Nov 11)

Note: the fall session is currently underway. New sessions will begin in January.

Join Tasha, leader of our popular Wings of Fire Summer Camp, to learn the elements of writing to communicate creatively with a chosen audience.  This class has a minimum of 2 and a maximum  of 5 participants.

In this course, jam-packed with fun, we explore the many facets of Creative Writing. We will look at plot-design, character-design, imagery and description and developing pertinent and effective writing styles for every need! This course explores the writing milieus of comic strips and graphic novels, blogs, short stories, poetry, and fiction! This class has a minimum of 2 and a maximum  of 6 participants.

Technology

Coding Club

Day:  Mondays or Fridays (age ranges listed below)
Time:  3:30 – 5:00
Cost: 5 weeks is $125, 6 weeks is $150

This camp will include an introduction to Scratch, Minecraft Education, and depending on group interest, other block coding platforms. Bits of Python/Java may be introduced depending on the interests of the group. Participants will learn the basics of block coding, create their own games, and participate in various challenges with fellow participants. 

Mondays 3.30pm – 5.00pm ages 6-8

Ages 6-8 November 4th- December 9 – (No class Nov 11) 5 weeks

Fridays 3.30pm – 5.00pm ages 8-12 

Session 6:  Ages 8-12  November 1 – December 6 – 6 weeks

Strawbees Engineering Club

Day: Wednesdays
Time:  3:30 – 5:30

Does your child inspire to be one of the next generation of inventors? With the strawbees building and coding systems, it’s an ideal tool for developing creative confidence and problem-solving skills. Using Microbit coding participants will Dream, create, learn, repeat!
