Summer 2023 Day Camps
Group A – Programs to Register through the Cowichan Community Centre – Camps held at WestView Learning!
CREATIVE FABRIC AND CRAFT CAMP Ages 7-12
July 4-7 2023 -9:00am -3:00pm (4 Day Tuesday – Friday)
Fee: $ 210.00 plus $50 payable on arrival to WVL for materials.
From hand sewing to sewing machines, creative crafts and Cricut ideas, participants will create a variety of projects using various mediums. You will learn the basic hand and machine stitches necessary to hold your projects together, decorate and sew finished projects and create some wonderful new crafts that will bring out your creative side.
LEGO NINJAGO Ages 6 – 10 SOLD OUT
July 10-14 2023– 9:00am -3:00pm
Fee: $ 280.00
The week’s theme is Lego Ninjago! Participants will build Lego Ninjago sets and then have the chance to be creative in making a story video, filming and creating stop motion videos. Final edited copies of their videos will be provided via USB stick at end of the week.
JUNIOR ENGINEERS Ages 6-10 SOLD OUT
July 24 – 28 2023– 9:00am -3:00pm
Fee: $ 260.00 plus $50 payable on arrival to WVL for materials.
Using wood, PLA, paper, polymer clay, fabric and fibre, computer software, 3D printers,, mobile devices, wires, LEDs, and a variety of traditional craft materials, participants will try their hand at designing new and remixing old projects. Students need to be prepared to get their hands dirty, be creative and have fun!
JUNIOR ENGINEERS Ages 8-12 Limited Space Available
July 31 – August 4 2023– 9:00am -3:00pm
Fee: $ 260.00 plus $50 payable on arrival to WVL for materials.
Using fabric and fibre, computer software, 3D printers, wood, PLA, paper, polymer clay, mobile devices, wires, LEDs, and a variety of traditional craft materials, participants will try their hand at designing new and remixing old projects. Coding Smorgasbord – Ages 6-11
July 24 –July 28 2023 – 9:00am -3:00pm
Fee: $ 275.00
This camp includes opportunities to code in Scratch, Minecraft, other block languages. and Python. Participants will be able to learn the basics of each code, write their own codes and participate in multiple challenges and games with fellow participants. Register here
Kitchen Capers, Recipe Keepsakes! – Ages 6-10
July 4-7 2023 – 9:00am -3:00pm
Fee: $ 225.00
Campers will create healthy snacks, lunches and a few fun treats in this early summer camp all while learning to work with others in the kitchen and WVL’s garden. Memories of their week will be captured in a ‘crafty’ custom recipe book that will grow with their kitchen skills in years to come! Note: this camp is limited to 6-8 participants. Register here
Lego Robotics Ages 9- 14
July 17-21 2023– 9:00am -3:00pm
Fee: $ 275.00
This camp includes opportunities for kids to build a variety of Lego MindStorm Robots as well as design and build different courses to challenge their robotic skills. Participants will code solutions to the courses, as well as having opportunity to try several remote-control challenges. Register here

Tech Tangles – Ages 10-16
August 21 – 25 2023 9:00am – 3:00pm

Students today have scads of tech awareness that could be used to create amazing projects for school subjects. This camp combines indoor and outdoor activities, global digital adventures, drama and literature as kids explore different ways to present their learning with a variety of technology devices, apps and materials! Kitchen Capers 3, School Lunch/Snack Prep – Ages 6-10
August 21 – 25 2023 9:00am – 3:00pm
Fee: $ 275.00
Campers will think ahead to school lunches and snacks. Creativity comes into play for both taste and ‘packaging’ as different harvested and baked goodies are combined for awesome school day energy refills! Participants will spend time harvesting produce from WVL’s garden – learning to work with others in the garden and kitchen as well as creating a digital recipe!
