Summer Day Camps 2024
Courses offered through Rec Cowichan are now open. Camps offered directly through WVL – see below and complete form to pre-register now!
Registration is now open for Summer 2024!
All camps run a full week with the exception of the two weeks with a statutory holiday.
- arrangements can be made for early/late drop off-pick up – please contact WVL to discuss your needs
- camps run 9:00 – 3:00 each day
- camps try to spend time outside several times each day, weather permitting
- Please send with campers:
- sunscreen
- water bottle
- snacks/lunch
- hat
- inside shoes
- if your child has special needs, please contact staff well ahead of the camp so we can arrange a tour and a time to connect with staff prior to the camp. This helps both the camper and staff make the experience a positive event.
July 2nd – 5th
Coding Camp – Ages 6-10 $ 220.00. REGISTER HERE

This camp will include an introduction to Scratch and Minecraft Education. Participants will learn the basics of block coding, create their own games, and participate in various challenges with fellow participants. Movement breaks will include outdoor activities and games.
KITCHEN CAPERS Ages 10-14 $240. REGISTER HERE
Campers will learn and practice kitchen safety and cleanliness while creating healthy snacks, lunches, and a few treats. Campers will be out tending and harvesting plants in our garden, learn to work with others and make delicious items to take home. Movement breaks will include outdoor activities and games.
July 8th – 12th
Lego Ninjago – Ages 6-8 $300

The week’s theme is Lego Ninjago. Participants will build Lego Ninjago sets and then have an opportunity to create their own story using the pieces created, using stop motion video. Always a hugely popular camp for Lego enthusiasts!
Wings of Fire Fan Camp – Ages 9-14 $ 250.00 REGISTER NOW
If your child is an avid fan of the Wings of Fire series, then this is the day camp for their imagination. Books 1-5 will be the focus of the camp with unique events each day to relive, act out, create artistic connections, and ‘write on’ about the characters and plot twists that are foremost in their reader’s experience. Movement breaks will include outdoor activities and games.
July 15th – 19th
Create Stop Motion – Ages 9 -14 $250.00 REGISTER NOW
Campers will use a variety of objects to create fun animation shorts. Green screen techniques will be explored to place stories into the most unique locations you can find right here on Vancouver Island! Come prepared to paint, cut, build, write, video, and edit! Movement breaks will include outdoor activities and games.
Junior Engineers – Ages 6-8
$300 + $50 supply fee payable on arrival for camp

Participants will help design and engineer new and existing projects using wood, paper, fabric and fibre, computer software, wires, motors, LED’s and a variety of traditional craft materials. Students need to be ready to get their hands dirty, work outside for some of the time, have fun and bring out the Engineer in them!
July 22nd – 26th

Dungeons & Dragons- Ages 9-14 $ 250.00 REGISTER NOW
Embark on wondrous quests and mythical journeys! This day camp is for the imagination adventurer who is curious about the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons. No experience required! Our original daily adventures are custom designed and age appropriate for young audiences. Participants will get to to learn about D&D, how to create and run their own adventures for their friends.
Fabric & Creative CraftCamp – Ages 8-11

Participants will learn some basic hand stitches, learn how to use a sewing machine to make wonderful sewing projects, and enjoy making a variety of creative crafts and exciting projects using many different craft materials.
July 29th- August 2nd
