Title: Circuit Camp: Spark, Spin & Shine!
Cost: $400
Date(s):
Week 8: Aug 24-Aug 28 – Ages 10-16
Get ready to build, tinker, and power up! In this hands-on Circuit Camp, young inventors will explore the exciting world of electricity using breadboards, LED lights, motors, switches, wires, and mircocontroller development boards such as micro:bits and arduinos. Campers will learn how circuits work by experimenting, problem-solving, and bringing their creations to life with light, motion, and sound.
Instead of just learning about electricity, campers will become real inventors, testing ideas, figuring out how things connect, and discovering what happens when a circuit is complete (or when something needs fixing!). Along the way they’ll learn the basics of conductors, switches, polarity, and simple circuit design in a fun, approachable way.
Possible projects include:
- Build a light-up LED badge or name sign
- Create a spinning motor fan or mini propeller machine
- Design a switch-powered flashlight
- Make a light-up creature or robot
- Build a buzzing game or simple alarm circuit
- Create a tiny moving car powered by a motor
- Invent a light-up greeting card or artwork
- Program their own invention
Campers will explore how electricity can light things up, make things spin, and power inventions, all while developing creativity, curiosity, and engineering skills. By the end of the camp, they’ll have built several working projects and gained the confidence to keep inventing and experimenting long after camp ends!
